|
Westwind Contracting is proud to announce the initiation of work on the St. Johns River Water Management District project aimed at restoring Brevard County’s Herndon Swamp. Herndon Swamp is a large wetland slough, which forms the historical headwaters of the North Prong of the Sebastian River. The watershed area for the swamp is approximately 5,500 acres and includes a large portion of the Sebastian Buffer Preserve. Westwind will re-create the wetland slough that discharges from Herndon Swamp to the North Prong of the Sebastian River. This project demonstrates the recognized capabilities Westwind has in reclamation projects and is further evidence of the Company's continued commitment to the environment. Westwind brings all its considerable experience to the proper execution of this sensitive and critical ecological project .The following are pictures of the Westwind team at work on the Herndon Swamp:
