Westwind Contracting is one of the most distinctive and reputable contracting companies in Florida, offering an extensive array of expert services, a 31-year track record of excellence, and a project resume that demonstrates capabilities and work ethic.
Since our founding by Mr. Marion Mosley in 1986, we have played an honored role in helping this great state develop and prosper.From mining jobs in western Miami-Dade County, Westwind quickly moved on to working as the site developer for some of the area’s most prestigious residential developments, such as Arvida’s Weston community, Turnberry Associates/CMC Group’s Porto Vita development in Aventura, and the Key Marco development near Marco Island. From there, we ventured into road building.
As South Florida continued to expand, we began to see how the push of progress was affecting the state’s fragile environment. As much as we valued the success and growth of our community, we were also committed to the protection and preservation of our unique, natural home. Westwind then undertook numerous environmental jobs, including Everglades National Park’s Hole-In-The-Donut Wetlands Restoration and Mitigation project.
Despite the economic downturn of 2008, we continued to provide the same quality services and uphold our core company values. We managed to take advantage of the financial crisis to expand our services, working towards continued growth in underground utilities, water plant lime sludge disposal, concrete recycling, and site development.
Waldy Polizzi began his career with Westwind in 2003 and advanced from equipment manager, to vice president, and then president. After 15 years of service to the company, he acquired ownership in 2016. He, along with his team of dedicated employees, continues to uphold Westwind’s original values of honesty, safety, efficiency, quality, and expertise. We at Westwind are immensely proud of the role we’ve played in building this great community, and we look forward to continuing our work for many years to come.
